Arku House - 1960’s Beachfront shack

Welcome to Arku House a beachfront escape set in the incredibly picturesque Sisters Beach. Completely engulfed in nature, the shack overlooks Sisters Island, has views of the ocean, the river and is surrounded by lush National Park.

Arku House is an A frame shack built in the 1960’s that has been designed to ensure you feel a sense of calm and tranquility the moment you step through the door. The ultimate beachfront escape.

The cozy primary bedroom offers a queen bed and is cocooned with plush European linen curtains creating an effortless flow from the upstairs lounge room into the bedroom. Sit around the fire and tell tales of your day then migrate to the movie cinema to unwind and enjoy your favourite film. Fall asleep to the soothing sound of the ocean after taking an evening stroll to the beach through the illuminated private pathway. Wake up in the morning to the amazing views of the sunrise dancing over the ocean, you have front row seats from the comfort of your bed and may even be lucky enough to spot the occasional whale.

Whether your morning ritual is to curl up with your morning coffee in a cozy seating nook, take a morning dip in the ocean, go for a morning paddle in the kyack or practice yoga on the deck at sunrise, Arku house has something for everyone.

The design focus for Arku is heavily inspired by New Mediterranean design. Being professionally designed a lot of the pieces throughout the shack are one of a kind and or antiques. You will find an array of books, some focusing on the Mediterranean lifestyle which will give you insight into our inspiration. Venetian plaster has been lovingly plastered throughout the walls of the shack bringing depth and warmth. The floors have been kept in their original state to remind all of our guests of the long life this little shack has had. Tassie Oak has been installed throughout the shack creating a perfectly imperfect finish with the new and old.

The kitchen offers hand cut splash back tiles, a 4 burner stovetop, large oven & grill, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, blender and all necessary cooking utensils.
Arku House stocks a basics pantry comprising of coffee, an array of teas including black and herbal teas, olive oil, salt and pepper. Arku House also stocks pantry extras such as rice and pasta, oats for your morning breakfast, cooking spices to aid in you curation of a delicious meal in our well stocked kitchen and a few other goodies to get you through your stay. Enjoy these goodies throughout your stay, but please ensure you take only what you require, being mindful of future guests.
You will find a small corner store for any other food basics you may require throughout your stay however we recommend doing the majority of your shop before you arrive at Sisters Beach.

Being an A Frame the space can be quite limited in some areas of the home. Please note that we are a unique stay and therefore you may come across some quirks that add character to the A Frame. Arku House has a steep internal staircase along with a large external staircase to enter the home please keep this in mind when booking as it will not suit people with mobility issues.
Mobile phone providers other than Telstra will not work in Sisters Beach, we have provided unlimited wifi so you are able to stay in contact with loved ones throughout your stay.
