Images c/o  Lisdillon Estates

The Blacksmith's Cottage is located on the Great Eastern Drive, on a vineyard and sheep farm called Lisdillon. The stone cottage was built by the convicts in the 1800s and has a large garden and a deck with stunning views of the Lisdillon rivulet. The private beach is only a two-minute stroll away with its pristine white sand and views across the water to the Freycinet Peninsula and Schouten Island.

The property is located 25 minutes drive from the Maria Island Ferry and 1 hour from Coles Bay.

The Space

The historic convict-built Blacksmith's Cottage is a rubble stone building located on the East Coast of Tasmania dating back to the mid-1800s and is set on the historic sheep farm and vineyard, Lisdillon. It is one of four of the original stone buildings to have survived, that once made up the tiny village.

The cottage includes an open plan living and dining area and separate kitchen on the ground floor, two upstairs bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and the other with two single beds. The bathroom is on the ground floor, up to two stairs from the living room. From the living area, which features a cosy wood fire, doors open onto a deck that overlooks the Lisdillon Rivulet.

Explore Lisdillon's 5km of private coastline with its pristine white sand and take a dip in the property's private beach and river.

OUR PRIVATE BEACH
Lisdillon Estate is one of the few lucky places in the world that has its very own private beach. Lisdillon's property extends to the low tide mark so its boundaries grow bigger and smaller every second! Even though it is private and most of the time there won't be another personal insight you will occasionally come across other guests and people who rent shacks on the farm.

PICNIC AT LISDILLON
We have lots of beautiful spots to just sit, relax and enjoy the view so we provide guests with a picnic basket set, wine cooler and picnic blanket to use on the farm. Be sure to remember your picnic food!

Blacksmith's is surrounded by charming, spacious gardens which feature sunny seating areas and stunning country, river and ocean views.

Due to the steep staircase, this house is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Located 21 kilometres from Swansea and set amongst farmland and vineyards, the Blacksmith's is the perfect setting for family holidays and cosy weekends away. Enjoy leisurely walks on the beach, try your luck fishing at the river or simply relax in the sun with a book, breathing in the fresh country air. Alternatively, take advantage of nearby attractions including East Coast wineries, Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park (1hr drive) and Maria Island ferry (25min drive).

Perfect for a relaxed weekend away - try some of Lisdillon's delicious Pinot Noir or Sauvignon Blanc!

The cupboards and fridge have some cooking supplies which you are welcome to use. We will provide a more thorough list of items when you book.
