Palazzo Campania is a lovingly restored 1879 heritage home in the heart of the Coal Valley wine region, offering a distinctive and memorable stay. Once a grand country residence, it has been thoughtfully reimagined for relaxed escapes, perfect for long weekends with friends, romantic getaways, or exploring nearby vineyards.
The atmosphere is refined yet welcoming: historic and contemporary, and deeply connected to its setting, a place to slow down, gather, and enjoy the rhythm of country life.
The space
Palazzo Campania has four bedrooms in total, with stays limited to six guests across three bedrooms to ensure space and comfort. Two of the bedrooms include private ensuites.
Downstairs you’ll find two guest bedrooms (one with ensuite) and a quiet reading room. A grand staircase leads upstairs to the master bedroom with ensuite, a large open kitchen and dining area designed for shared meals, and a separate living space. The upstairs balcony overlooks the town, while the private backyard offers a peaceful retreat, complete with a heated magnesium pool. A wildflower garden greets you at the front door.
We provide a complimentary breakfast for one morning of your stay.
We’re delighted to accommodate well-mannered pets by prior approval.
Please advise us at the time of booking if you plan to bring your pet, so we can confirm the property is suitable for them.
Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the entire home, including all bedrooms, the upstairs balcony and the private backyard with heated pool. There is ample off-street parking, as well as free on-street parking nearby.
Other things to note
The exterior of Palazzo Campania has been restored to reflect its original form, while the interior tells a new story. Traditional lime wash has been used on many walls, others remain original, with traces of historic wallpaper still visible. Timbers throughout the home include Huon Pine, Baltic and Kauri Pine, Oregon and Tasmanian Oak, and the restored sandstone was sourced from a local quarry.
The magnesium pool is heated year-round and maintained at a constant 28°C. An outdoor dining area sits beneath the olive trees, with a Heston Blumenthal barbecue available for guest use.
